Rewilded Wellness
REWILDED Wellness is a podcast about understanding your body in context—and rebuilding the conditions that allow it to become more resilient.
Hosted by functional nutritional therapy practitioner Lydia Joy, the show explores chronic health through a rewilded lens: one that recognizes that human biology cannot be separated from the environment, rhythms, nourishment, relationships, movement, stressors and lived experiences continually shaping it.
We have access to more health information than ever before. We can use functional testing to look at our minerals, microbiome and bloodwork; explore our genetics and hormones; track symptoms; research every pathway; and accumulate increasingly complicated protocols.
But more information doesn't always create better health.
REWILDED Wellness asks a different set of questions:
What is your body doing—and why might it make sense in the context of what you've lived? What conditions does it need now? And how do we rebuild greater capacity without turning your entire life into another health protocol?
Through personal stories, client observations, functional nutrition and explorations of physiology, Lydia brings together topics including gut health and the microbiome, HTMA and mineral balancing, chronic health patterns, perimenopause and women's health, nervous system function, nourishment, movement, environmental health and our relationship with the natural world.
Functional testing and targeted interventions can absolutely have a place here. But they aren't the destination.
The goal is to understand patterns rather than chase individual symptoms, work with the body rather than continually override it, and gradually rebuild the conditions that support greater resilience.
Because rewilding your health isn't about returning to some imaginary perfect past.
It's about remembering that your body is part of nature—and learning how to work with it again.

There is a bit of a hierarchy when it comes to minerals - we have our macro minerals and the main two most of us know are calcium and magnesium. This mineral pair really cannot be separated and requires the OPPOSITE balance we've been taught. We really need a higher magnesium and lower calcium consumption for optimal energy and health.
In this episode, I did into this a bit more and help you understand how to look at these two mineral in light of our modern diet. Make sure you are looking at these two closely in your diet so you can make to avoid the problems of calcification.
